There is no one way of looking but many ways of looking and these ways are made and affected strongly by outside media. To that, the DVD text for Dreamworlds III said “The images we see in music video are never innocent. They are never accidental. These ways of looking have been deliberately chosen by writers, directors and editors. Understanding them can tell us a great deal about how the thing or person being watched is regarded by the viewer.” Thinking that my perception and view are developed only by me and not knowing that there are many external things which can affect how I think explicitly or implicitly was too innocent and foolish. By many methods, especially by focusing on only one aspect of people, music videos deteriorate women to nothing more than sexual objects. That is, music videos make people think women are for pleasing men.

An image has no fixed meaning. An image has a potentially wide range of meaning.

The article “The Black Matriarch as Villain” is written by Juell Stewart, a writer and activist in Brooklyn. The writer found something problematic in the film, Precious. That is, the writer found a reliance on the villanization of the Black matriarch, and no mention of systemic race issues, to make the larger message of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” more palatable. It is possible the writer noticed this because she is an activist. If the writer was not an activist, it is possible that she would not notice it or find other problematic things. Because interpreting images depends on history, cultural context, and individual view.

This is one movie and there are many responses, thoughts, and views. I think this also means and supports that there is no fixed meaning and all of these debates about Precious are related to historical and cultural issues. All things in the world do not exist alone and all of them are pertinent to others and can be understood, interpreted, and accepted in cultural and historical contexts. How can I see the world accurately and having no stereotypes?

As for meaning and content which I could feel and think from the movie, I think the movie can be divided into two parts broadly that before and after the Alex is captured. Before Alex is captured he had done many vicious things that can’t be acceptable to other human beings such as murder, rape. However he did it without any concern, confusion, and self censure.

Stanley Kubrick, the director of Clockwork Orange, express and improve what he want to tell to audiences by using distinctive way. About this Vivian C. Sobchack who is the professor of university of California said in the article Décor as Theme: A Clockwork Orange.

Through the commentative function of the film’s décor which is most emphatically located in the various forms of fine art present in the mise-en-scene, Kubrick is able to articulate and develop this theme in a manner unavailable to the novelist in general, and to Burgess in particular, since the latter has limited himself to the confined interests and selective vision of his first-person narrator. The film is full of paintings and statuary which are not present in the novel.

Besides of above, Vivian C. Sobchack told many relevant sayings how he expressed in movie peculiarly. Many scenes are very shocking and impressive. So I can think if he did not use those styles to show how the movie can be different from now.

“The problem is not that the photograph has been manipulated, but that we have been manipulated by the photograph. Photoshop is not the culprit.”

I think it’s not an important and impressive picture in historical and cultural context. Maybe it has cultural and historical meaning not at all. It’s because this picture is just a taking Tyra Banks wearing bikini. However why I choose this picture is this shows how camera’s angle make different from real and it’s really definite how different between a photo and real Tyra Banks. When this picture was first published on People magazine people believed with surprised. However Tyra Banks the heroine of the picture denied aggressively and finally showed real image.

I think it’s very hard to accept a picture just a picture without any backgrounds and texts added. Maybe we have think and grasp carefully what pictures means, what pictures want to say, and do pictures make any fake when we see pictures.

and models who are famous singers and popular to girls.

I can’t understand what the ad wants to say. In the ad too much masculine models who are famous and popular and have masculine boy group image in South Korea. Only from ad it is rationale that the ad is not for organic snack but for nutritional supplements. Maybe, I think the Maket O the producer of this snack wants to say that “You will be healthy like these boys if you eat Market O snack” and “Come on girls, here are the boys you want”

I think this ad is related with one of the Seven Principles of Visual Literacy, visual messages are conveyed through both form and content . If there is only this print ad without any knowledge about Market O I never know what this ad wants to say. Because there is ad form and what i know about content already I can know what it is.
Moreover I think main target of this ad is young girls who are interested in body shape and eager these boys( nowadays this boy group is one of the most popular group in South Korea ). Those girls tend to buy and use things that adevertised by who they like. This way of ad do not require any backgrounds and knowledge.

At first time when the Market O lauched they used to inform customers of good and healthy ingredients of its snacks. However after knowing Market O is healthy snack brand by customers it advertise like this.

I am very embarassed when I see this ad. I can not understand what is related with between the print ad and snack which is the purpose of this ad. It look like just picture of boy group. Also Maket O has said it is healthym organic, and pure snack brand but it is hard to agree with its saying when see the print ad which use too much masculine models ( they never looks like pure ) and the colors in ad do not loo like delicious, pure or organic.

Impression which I feel from LG print ads is related with one of the Seven Principles of Visual Literacy, visuals can create a powerful illusion of reality. When I see these ads I think LG approach customers gently and covey its elegant image implicitly. It make customers think their life which use LG products and services is an art like pictures in ads. This feeling coveyed to customers is made and intended by company. Although people use LG products and services, if there are not practical and fundamental changes in their life there are no elegant life like arts. However using arts can give illusion of reality that people can live feeling what they imagine from arts.

This ad use great arts which almost everyone know what it is. This means they do not acquire any expert and high level backgrounds, knowledge so these ads can approach customers and give what they want to say to people easily. I think easy giving their intention is important in public ads.

I think the target audience of this ad is all people who are exposed to this ad. LG is the company that produce almost every thing related with routines and this ad is not for only one product but the image that LG gives to customers.

This ad give the image that using LG and LG brands in your life is arts implicitly and giving positive image is area beyond just advertising that motivate people to buy and use its products, services. Once people have the image on things it can’t be changed easily and it acquire much money, effort and time. So I think this is one successful print ad step by LG.

Eating people means greedy of current people.
They don’t stop eating despite of collapse.

Because of the viewpoint it looked like dreary
but ironically it also seemed comfortable without any interruption from man.

So I agree with the direction that “He creates contemplative yet vivid scenes of farms and oil fields that raise qustions about the effect of human progress on the environment”.

Directions about his medium are very surprising
because I couldn’t think like that before read the direction.
After reading the direction I can’t understand characteristics of his medium.
Why does the style of his work remind video technology?
If it does, I think it’s because of macroscopic viewpoint.
